For details on how to purchase and the amount of minutes, texts and web access you’ll receive, please go to Freedom Freebee.
How it works
The date that Freedom Freebee is added to your account will count as the first day. It will run out at 23.59 in the UK on the 30th day. You’ll receive an allowance of texts and minutes for use to UK landline numbers (starting 01, 02, 03), UK mobiles and voicemail within the UK. Calls to other numbers including premium rate and non-geographic numbers are not included. A minimum of one minute will be taken from your minutes allowance per call. After the first minute we’ll take each second of your call from your minutes allowance. With each Freedom Freebee you’ll receive a data allowance for use within the UK (we call this web access).
You can only have one Freedom Freebee in any 30 day period. Any unused minutes, texts or web access won’t carry over when your 30-day period expires. If you exceed your minutes, texts or web access allowances, we’ll charge you at the standard price plan rate or restrict your use.
Sorry, but during the 30-day period you can't:
cancel or buy a Freedom Freebee
buy a Text or Web Pack
use Stop The Clock
add other Vodafone Freebees to your account.
Please be aware
If you move to another price plan or move from pay as you go to a pay monthly contract, any unused minutes, texts and web access in your Freedom Freebee will be lost.
Freedom Freebees are non-refundable, non-transferable and for your personal, non-commercial use. They’re also subject to the pay as you go Airtime Conditions and price plan terms.
We may vary or amend these terms, but if it’s to your disadvantage, we’ll notify you.
What you need to know when you gift Vodafone Freedom Freebee
How does the Christmas provisioning journey work?
Between 1st Nov & 31st Dec the Freedom Freebee is instantly auto provisioned ‘over the air’ as soon as:
Qualifying IMEI recognised on network with corresponding handset TAC code match
New SIM recognised on network
SMS message sent by CVM to let the customer know the Freedom Freebee has been applied
The Freedom Freebee lasts 30 days and an auto message received on expiry
What happens if the gift giver tests the handset to check its working before wrapping up?
The Freedom Freebee is instantly applied as soon as the phone & SIM are seen on the network, & the benefit will start ticking down. To mitigate this behavior, & ensure there is a Freedom Freebee benefit to use from Christmas day, the following activity will take place:
Daily report run by CVM Ops between Mon 19th- Weds 21st Dec to identify customers who have activated but shown less than 1 day usage, have used less than 10mins/10 texts, & whose handsets have failed to receive the welcome journey. These people will be classified as gift givers who have falsely activated the benefit.
The Service Operations Team will re-instate the £15 Freedom Freebee between 19th – 21st Dec. This will involve a straight re-provision where a Freedom Freebee has already completely expired, or removal of partly expired benefit, and re-provision of a new one
We are doing the reprovision in the first half of the week to allow two clear working days with full business support (22nd – 23rd) to rectify any provisioning issues before the Christmas break
This does mean that the receiver will not get the full 30 day benefit. The customer services team will be trained to handle any complaints in this area.
What happens if I am upgrading and put my existing SIM in a qualifying handset?
For those customers who are not opted into a conflicting Vodafone Freebee proposition, the provisioning will work exactly as described in journey 1, and they will receive their Freedom Freebee as soon as they start to use their handset & SIM together anytime during the qualifying period
For those customers already opted into another Vodafone Freebee, provisioning will fail and a failure record is created in our customer systems, allowing customer services to assist & resolve for those calling in
We are also investigating several solutions to pro-actively inform of failure & resolve for the customer, and will confirm the approach w/c 10th October
Questions raised
What happens if I am a self upgrader buying a new handset through the indirect channel and inserting my existing SIM?
For those not opted into conflicting proposition, the Freedom Freebee will instantly provision as above
For those opted into a conflicting proposition, provisioning will fail and a failure record will be created in Crystal. We will be checking failure records daily. Where provisioning has failed because of proposition opt in conflict, we will instead apply a £15 credit to the customer’s account and send them sms when this has been done.
