Different conventional phone which usually comes in one piece, Nokia 5200 is a slide design phone that can hide its keypad panel when not in use. Sliding the upper panel forward will expose a lower keys panel illuminated with blue LEDs. The sliding is very smooth and easy. To me,the blue color illumination looks very pleasing to the eye and signifies high technology. Even though the casing is made of plastic, it is in no ways show any inferior quality in its appearance.
Its five way navigation keys make it very easy to access the different features and functions in the phone.In addition to that, accessing radio and camera function is made easier by the controlling keys at its side. When in camera mode, the volume keys act as a zooming keys.
It has all the standard features available in other common phones such as music playing, stereo FM radio, messaging in SMS, MMS, instant messaging and email, alarm clock, reminder,stopwatch, timer, web browser, blue tooth and USB 2.0 connectivity. However, the camera picture quality taken with this phone is on the low end which give me some disappointment. Checking out the spec, it has only a VGA resolution of 0.3 Megapixels. In contrast to the camera picture quality of this phone, the sound output when playing music or listening to radio receptions is excellent! I can hardly hear any hiss sound during radio transmission even in a shopping complex.
Its internal 5MB memory is more than enough for me to store any amount of contact numbers, messages as well as MP3 songs.I have downloaded about a hundred MP3 songs to it and there is still more than half of the memory left. It is simply irrevelant for me to add in any MicroSD card to boost up its memory storage.
The feature I like most is its long battery life which I find can last a week with normal usage. Its battery performance really shines in comparison to my other Sony Ericsson phone that can last only 2 to 3 days even when I first bought it. Long op
